UnderTheDoormat joins London’s fastest-growing women-led tech startups in Silicon Valley
Celebrating Female Founders
“If you’re a young entrepreneur thinking about new horizons, going to a place that’s cosmopolitan, that’s diverse, that has some of the most talented people in the world. You’ve got to choose London.”
Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London
From 8 -12 May, Merilee will join fourteen other leaders of London’s fastest-growing women-led tech companies on a trip to Silicon Valley. This international trade mission is organised by Silicon Valley Comes to the UK and the Mayor’s International Business Programme.
Silicon Valley comes to the UK (SVC2UK) is a not-for-profit volunteer-led invitation-only series of events that bring together early stage investors, successful serial entrepreneurs, students and alumni with leading serial entrepreneurs and investors to discuss and debate how and why they have come to create and fund today’s most disruptive technologies that aim to change our world.
SVC2UK is working in partnership with London & Partners this year to deliver their programme of events.
The aim is to inspire Female Founders of Scale Ups to build global businesses by introducing them to Female Leaders and Investors in Silicon Valley and San Francisco who have scaled businesses themselves successfully and keen to share their learnings.
The programme will include round table conversations with prominent female business leaders and entrepreneurs, networking events and dinners.
The 15 businesses selected have an average growth rate of over 75 per cent per year, based over the past three years. They include Merilee Karr, founder and chief executive of short-term accommodation association UnderTheDoormat, Pip Jamieson, the founder of professional networking site The Dots, and Jessica Taylor of games studio Preloaded.
