7 Amazing Summer Events in London
London is incredible in the Summer, not only because we actually get some nice weather and venture outside of our houses, but also because the Summer is the time of the year for all of our annual parades, carnivals and festivals! Whether you’re in London for a weekend or a longer trip, you don’t need to worry about having nothing to do.
Fancy a couple of ideas? We’ve curated a list of our 7 favourite events that will be in London this Summer.
Pride Parade
If you’re lucky enough to be in London at the right time, you’ll be able to witness London’s annual pride parade. This year, it’s on the 7th and 8th of July in Regent Street and Oxford Circus.
This year marks 50 years since the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality in the UK, and 3 years since the UK voted to legalise same-sex marriage, giving same-sex couples the same legal rights as straight ones.
For those who wish to join in on a celebration of the LGBT+ community, you can follow the whole parade from Portland Place station to Trafalgar Square. Each year, the details are kept a surprise until the actual day of the event, which means you’ll have to relinquish your feelings of control and fully give into the celebrations!
If this is something you’d like to get involved with, you can find all the details about this year’s parade on Pride in London, the official website.
Notting Hill Carnival
In the theme of parades, Notting Hill Carnival will be on Sunday 26th of August this year.
One of London’s most famous annual events and one of Europe’s biggest festivals, it’s no surprise that people travel from across the world to attend this carnival in the streets of Notting Hill. This carnival is a celebration of the culture and heritage of the British West Indian community, bringing together over a million people in a single day of celebrations.
From food stalls to more market-like stands, you’re sure to find where you belong in the carnival. While some choose to join the parade and dance behind each themed trailer, others take a seat in one of thousands of “pop-up” food & drink areas to enjoy the music.
Underbelly Festival
From April to September this year, the Underbelly Festival is gracing us with its annual presence on South Bank. However, this year they’re be celebrating their 10th birthday!
“Open from April until the end of September, Underbelly Festival Southbank brings the best in live circus, comedy, cabaret and family entertainment to the heart of London. We’ve got an amazing line-up of shows in an amazing city-centre, pop-up festival world. You can enjoy international street food, after work drinks in one of London’s largest outdoor bars and a true festival atmosphere on the banks of the Thames.”
A perfect place to hang out in the sunshine, indulge in a variety of food & drink options and be entertained, it’s no surprise that the Underbelly festival is so popular amongst tourists and locals alike!
Summer Streets on Regent Street
For the 6th year running, Regent Street will welcome the return of its annual traffic-free Summer Streets event. From the 1st to the 22nd of July, Regent Street will be pedestrianised every Sunday for the length of the street from Oxford Circus station down to Piccadilly Circus station.
Taking place on the first four Sundays in July (1, 8, 15, 22) the Regent Street Summer Streets series are created to encourage visitors to enjoy the festival-style atmosphere in the heart of London, along one of the most iconic streets in the city. Whether local to London or visiting from afar, Summer Streets promises to offer something for everyone. Retailers, restaurants and businesses all are preparing to come together to offer the public a special series of Sundays to remember.

London In The Sky
Foodies brace yourselves, because you’ll have to race for tickets to London In The Sky. We aren’t joking, dining in mid-air, suspended 100ft above the city is an actual thing you can do in London this Summer!
For two weeks this summer, you could be part of an unforgettable gastronomic experience that’ll see you take to the sky for a meal suspended 100ft in the air above the city. For the first time in the UK, three tables will be suspended 100ft in the air, each with different menus designed by our award winning chefs Robin Gill, Lee Westcott and Pascal Aussignac. 22 diners will be seated around each table, whilst our executive chefs cook your meal in the sky, serving everything from breakfast to afternoon tea or dinner at sunset, all prepared in front of you. Plan your arrival a minimum of 30 minutes prior to your sitting to relax in our luxury marquee and grab a drink at the bar prior to being seated at your Sky Table a few minutes before ‘take-off’.
There are various menus to choose from depending on what time of day you choose to book your tickets for, but be quick! It’s no surprise that these tickets are selling out faster than you can say “I want to wine and dine in mid-air!”
The Beach at Brent Cross

Neverland London
No, we’re not talking about the mysterious world where children never grow up from Peter Pan. Neverland has been described as “a paradise of white sand, day beds, pastel beach huts, swings and palm trees”, and it’s unsurprising that Londoners flock there on days of sunshine.
