The team give their thoughts: London’s best bar?
Matthew, director of acquisition marketing
Piano Kensington, High Street Kensington
“Humble entrance located opposite High Street Kensington tube; this is a piano bar not of the sedate, hotel lobby, background music variety. This is a ‘the piano sounds like a carnival’ party hub. I love this tiny candlelit bar’s intimate feel and the atmosphere’s crescendo as the evening progresses. An atmosphere that always leaves me singing with annoying enthusiasm on the way home!”

Ain’t Nothin’ But, Soho
“It’s a blues bar that puts on live music every night of the week, sometimes including burlesque shows. On Monday nights they also have rotating musicians which I absolutely love.

Olesya, marketing coordinator
Polpo at Ape & Bird, Covent Garden
“I’ve got so many but Ape & Bird really stands out. They serve great cocktails, especially With the food done by Polpo it’s really good as well. The atmosphere is relaxing, but you don’t fall asleep.”

The Crown and Shuttle, The Water Poet (both Shoreditch)
“The Crown and Shuttle in Shoreditch has a cool ship inside, with a terrace at the back which is great in the summer. I couldn’t decide on just the one so I’ll also say The Water Poet, nearer Spitalfields. This looks like a classic pub, but again there’s a nice terrace. I think I just like Dalston Yard in general! It’s a great place for some street-food if you fancy something to eat.”

Kevin, operations team intern
Zoo Bar, Picadilly
“This is a beautiful pub most days of the week, especially on Sunday when they bring out a fantastic roast. But I really enjoy going on Saturdays when it’s transformed into a club (which also happens on Wednesday nights) – I’ve enjoyed some of my best nights here in London here.”
