Surprise Your Dad With A Unique Father’s Day Treat!
Father’s Day comes but once a year – but finding an activity unique and special enough to celebrate your pop can be difficult. If you’re looking for an extraordinary treat for an extraordinary dad in 2019, we’ve got you covered!
Unique Father’s Day Activities: A Trip Down Memory Lane
Has your dad ever uttered the phrase ‘it wasn’t like this in my day’ or reminisced fondly about an object from his childhood? If so, a trip to the Museum of Brands! might be the perfect Father’s Day outing for him!
The museum is offering two-for-one entry in celebration of Father’s Day – meaning that you can treat your pop to a trip down memory lane for a very affordable price. Visit the Time Tunnel and marvel over childhood toys, games and even breakfast cereals from the past; and then hit the Branding Hall, where you can participate in designer Alex Fowke’s interactive installation. Afterwards, you can kick back in the museum’s relaxing garden and continue to relive childhood memories. A unique Father’s Day treat and a fun bonding experience for the whole family!
Take a Ride on the Mail Rail
Whether you live in London or just like to visit, chances are you’ve travelled on the tube. But a ride on the ‘Mail Rail’ gives travellers the chance to experience a side of underground London that they’ve never seen before!
Deep below Royal Mail’s Mount Pleasant Sorting Office is a former engineering depot and network of original tunnels that once transported mail through the city for 22 hours a day. There, visitors to the Mail Rail are invited to board a miniature train and take a 15-minute trip around the secret underground railway, which stretches from Paddington to Whitechapel: viewing the old platforms (which are largely unchanged), learning about the people who used to work on the network, and taking a peek into hidden areas.
A fantastic day out for history buffs and anyone who wants to get to know a different part of the capital.
Enjoy a Bottomless Brunch and Brewery Tour
London brewery Fourpure are opening their doors to dads this Sunday: and what a treat they have in store!
With their special ‘Dads Go Free’ package, you can accompany your father on an amazing tour around the brewery, learning about how the beer is made, the history of Fourpure, and what makes their beers so special: from the grain itself to the finished beverage!
No brewery tour would be complete without a tasting, however, and there’s plenty of beer (and food) on offer. Tickets include a main course at Fourpure’s delicious café (courtesy of in-house caterers ‘Oh My Dog!’): your dad can choose from sausage patties, buttermilk pancakes, and more. All brunch tickets include a side of delightful tater tots and bottomless 2/3 pints of Fourpure’s flagship beers. Cheers!
Snorkel with the Sharks at SeaLife
If your dad is a bit of a thrill-seeker, look no further than SeaLife, where a unique Father’s Day activity and the ultimate underwater adventure awaits!
In this unique experience, swimmers can take a dip alongside Sand Tiger Sharks, Black Tip Reef Sharks, and more, within SeaLife’s specially designed (and safe) enclosure. Discover the glory of these magnificent aquatic creatures as never before and take a closer look at the aquarium’s dramatic Pacific Reef during the fifteen-minute snorkel trip. This breathtaking adventure is available for up to four people, so you can bring your mum, siblings or other family members along, too!
No diving experience is required. Tickets include full safety briefing and all equipment (including wet suits), as well as admission to the aquarium and a donation of £5.00 to the SeaLife Trust.
Climb the O2
The O2 is the world’s most popular entertainment venue and is visited by millions of people every year. If you’re reading this blog and you’ve been to London before, it’s likely that you’ve attended a concert, had a meal, or been shopping there.
Therefore, if you mention to your father that you’re taking him to the O2 for Father’s Day, he’ll probably think he knows what he can expect. However, if you’ve purchased an ‘Up at the O2’ experience, you can prove him wrong in the most marvellous way!
‘Up at the O2’ tickets give participants the chance to see London from a dizzying perspective: you’ll embark on an exhilarating, exciting climb up onto the roof of the O2 itself and enjoy stunning panoramic views across the city. On the guided tour, your host will point out various sights and attractions as the cityscape unfolds in 360-degree glory before you. ‘Champagne’ packages are on offer for very special occasions, too, meaning that you can clink glasses with Dad and toast to his good health (with Lanson champagne, no less) when you’ve reached the peak.
Providing ninety minutes of fun, good exercise, fascinating information about London, and spectacular views, ‘Up at the O2’ offers a truly unique treat for your dad this Father’s Day.
