Boasting a huge utility/ boot room, Groom’s makes a fabulous base for action packed adventure holidays involving lots of mud and gear! Park up your bikes, towel dry your dogs and kick off your boots before heading upstairs to the heart of Grooms, a large open-plan kitchen-dining area built above the stable block. Indulge your inner Nigella in our fully equipped kitchen before ending the day with a gentle stroll around the grounds.
With bedrooms at either end of the apartment, this is a popular choice for travel with friends. Our Harris and Spinks mattresses are the height of luxury, chosen to bring you the best night’s sleep.
The Groom’s Quarters has been renovated to meet a light and airy open-plan living style. The newly renovated stables has now become a beautiful conversion project perfect for a group of 4. Once you have made your way over the cobbled stable yard and looked back to see the over-looking Victorian clock tower, you can make your way into the charming first-floor apartment will exposed oak beams and there is a comfortable seating area with a well-equipped kitchen that helps to make life easy when thinking about meals times! There are 2 bedrooms, the first with a 5’ king-size zip and link bed which can be configured as two single beds upon request and en-suite bathroom and the second with a 4’6 double bed and en-suite shower room, perfect for those who like to keep a bit of privacy.
The grounds offer the extra convenience of private parking but if you fancy a meal out there is always the opportunity to hop on the complimentary shuttle service to the nearby Michelin Star Pentonbridge Inn. CCTV covers the grounds of Netherby Hall for security reasons.
The history of Netherby Hall dates back to Roman times, and parts of the grand house may even have been built using stones from a Roman fort. Beautifully decorated, the apartments and cottages are all thoroughly modern, with plenty of touches of 21st century luxury.
The Groom’s Quarters sits within 36 acres of parkland, where you can stroll across manicured lawns, enjoy a Victorian pleasure garden and walk through a walled garden that stretches for over an acre. The estate is nestled in north Cumbria, with spectacular views over the undulating landscape to the Scottish hills beyond.
We are happy to accept dogs at a minimal charge, we just need to be notified in advance of arrival.
