We are delighted to announce the launch of the brand new UnderTheDoormat Concierge Service; in partnership with luxury lifestyle management company, Quintessentially. Giving our homeowners the gift of time; we will secure restaurants, book dream holidays, hire the all-important nanny or simply arrange a very special outing. We are at your service.

As a homeowner you are eligible for 3 complimentary enquiries and we really hope they make a difference to you and make your life that little bit easier. 5 Tips For The Summer Season

To make the most of the Summer season and ensure that your home is equipped and ready for guest stays, it’s important to follow the tips below:

1. Ribbon and Tape for Private Areas 

Please let us know if you need any extra ribbon or tape for you to signal which areas of the home are private so that we are able to get it to you before you leave.

2. Keeping the home cool

A. We want your guests to be able to cool down in your home especially at night. We recommend there is at least one fan per bedroom.

B. We recommend having curtains that help block out the sun during the hottest part of the day to help keep the heat out as much as possible.

C. Please make sure all your windows can open to let in the cool breeze. If there are any specific instructions or keys, please make sure you have passed that information along in your blueprint or update us if anything has changed.

3. Health and Safety Elements Check

A. Please ensure that your Gas Certificate is up to date and on record with us (this is a legal requirement).

B. Smoke Alarm and Carbon Monoxide detectors are in place and functioning.

C. Fire extinguisher and First Aid Kit are provided for your guests and you have let us know where they are.

4. Set of Keys 

Please ensure you have provided 4 sets of keys to UnderTheDoormat. We will contact you if any more are required.

5. Emergency Call/Policy

Everyone thinks it won’t happen to them, but every year at least one boiler breaks down. To avoid an expensive emergency callout, please ensure you have an engineer/policy in place and have given us all of the necessary details.

6. Maintenance & Recommendations

A. If you have an outdoor area it will most likely be used more in Summer. We recommend you have outdoor furniture and it is clean and sturdy after a London Winter.

B. The hot weather and extra use over Summer can put your fridge and freezer under strain so to avoid an expensive emergency call out, please make sure your Fridge and Freezer is working well.

C. Having a well-manicured garden and outdoor area will be a great experience for guests in Summer. If you would like us to coordinate gardening and watering of plants over Summer, please let us know and we will be happy to organise.

Important Notifications

Please be aware that any available dates on your calendar will be open to instant bookings, hence always keep your calendar updated.

Please note that if this is an Airbnb booking, and the check-in date is a minimum of 14 days away, the guest reserves the right to cancel up to 48 hours from the booking time, free of any charge. In this situation, neither the homeowner nor UnderTheDoormat would receive any funds.

In line with South Korean law, guests from South Korea who book through Airbnb will be able to receive a 50% refund if they cancel within 30 days of the reservation. It is a legal requirement that Airbnb and we respect this rule ahead of our terms and conditions. All other elements of their stay will remain in line with UnderTheDoormat’s Terms and Conditions.
